Pre-Primary Convocation 2008-2009

Good morning friends.  My son Shivam  Patel graduated.  Here you can see the picture of their class wearing toga.  They are those who graduated in Pre-primary Convocation 2008-2009.  They graduated in St. Kabir School in Ahmedabad.  A good school.  They all look cute there.  My son is there 4th kid starting from the left.  I just remember my younger days.  It’s good to  be a kid.  When my son will grow older, I will teach him what I’m doing with the medical camp we have.  I always carry him with me whenever I go to Matar and have that medical camp.  I want him to be aware of what is happening there, what I’m doing there, what other people do there.  I’m sure he will be like me when he grows old.

For the comfort of the Volunteers

Good morning friends. It’s a very busy day with me today.  I have a lot of work to finish because tomorrow is a Saturday.  This afternoon maybe at about 3:00 pm I will be going to Matar and will come back to the office maybe at around 6:30 pm..  But I will not go alone there.  I will be with the air conditioner owner, one doctor and one trustee.  We will have the installation of air conditioner there.  We have  computers there, and all of that needed a cool ventilation.  And also for the volunteers who work there.  So that they can work comfortably.  We will try to finish the installation there, so that it will be ready on the following schedule of the medical camp.  Not only the patients there that we are giving care also with the volunteers.

Creating Chetna’ on safe motherhood

Good Evening friends,

I am going to matar as tomorrow is second Sunday of April. Manav Parivar is going to organizer their roution medical camp and I am going to give my free service over there. I read something interesting on times of india website. I like to share that news with you all. CHETNA, a ahmedabad base NGO is taking action towards safe motherhood.

More than 60% of pregnant women in Gujarat between 15 and 49 years are anaemic. Highlighting the barriers in maternal health in state and country, centre for health education, training and nutrition awareness (CHETNA), a non-government organisation based in Ahmedabad conducted a study and has listed lack of transport for medical access, high medical cost and other socio-cultural factors resulting into the poor state of maternal health.

This was done in relation with safe motherhood initiative, a world-wide effort that aims to reduce the number of deaths and illnesses associated with pregnancy and childbirth.

Founder director of CHETNA, Indu Capoor says, “More than 60 per cent of maternal deaths take place immediately after the delivery, with more than half occurring within a day. Every minute, a woman dies as a result of pregnancy or childbirth.”

On achieving safe motherhood, Capoor says, “Safe motherhood can be achieved by providing high-quality maternal health services to all women during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period.

“Care by skilled health personnel before, during, and after childbirth, emergency care for life-threatening obstetric complications, services to prevent and manage complications of unsafe abortion and family planning are some among others,” she said.
