Mumbai’s 3 finest cops matyred in terrorist attack

I salute the courage shown by these 3 cops ATS Chief Hemant Karkare, encounter specialist Vijay Salaskar and ACP  Ashok Kamte. It was an emotional day for the families of the police officers who laid down their lives while trying to take control of the terrorists’ firing spree in Mumbai on Wednesday night. The three police officers were Maharashtra’s finest. ATS Chief, Hemant Karkare, encounter specialist Vijay Salaskar and ACP Ashok Kamte were killed in action during the worst terror strike to hit Mumbai.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said, “I salute the courage of the ATS chief Hemant Karkare and others who have laid down their lives in fighting this attack.”

Hemant Karkare was an officer known for his discipline and fair investigation. Part of the IPS batch of 1982, he served in RAW for nine years and was made ATS chief in January this year. Apart from solving the serial bomb blasts in Thane, Vashi and Panvel, Karkare was the man following the terror trail in the Malegaon Blast case.

Encounter specialist Vijay Salaskar was an officer of the 1983 batch and had close to 80 encounters under his belt. He took down dead dreaded criminals like Amar Naik, Jaggu Shetty, Sadhu Shetty, Kundan Singh Rawat and Zahoor Makhanda. Salaskar died when a bullet hit his head.

ACP Ashok Kamte had earlier served as the commissioner of Solapur. Kamte was always known to be in the thick of action.

Even as the families grieve the loss of their loved ones, the city mourns the death of its heroes. For an embattled Mumbai police force, it’s time to reflect on the losses.

My tribute to all these 3 cops and i pray to god for them.

10 tips on Volunteering Wisely-1

Good Morning friends, I was reading notes and articles on volunteering and I find following article at Network for good. It says 10 tips on volunteering wisely.

  1. Research the causes or issues important to you.
  2. Consider the skills you have to offer.
  3. Would you like to learn something new?
  4. Combine your goals.
  5. Don’t over-commit your schedule.
  6. Nonprofits may have questions, too.
  7. Consider volunteering as a family.
  8. Virtual volunteering?
  9. I never thought of that!
  10. Give voice to your heart through your giving and volunteering!

Let’s talk each of these steps in details and try to learn from it.

(1)Research the causes or issues important to you.

Look for a group that works with issues about which you feel strongly. You might already be giving money to one of these organizations, and that might be a good place to begin your volunteer experience. If you can’t find such an organization, here’s a challenging and intriguing thought: why not start one yourself? You can rally your neighbors to clean up that vacant lot on the corner, patrol the neighborhood, paint an elderly neighbor’s house, take turns keeping an eye on the ailing person down the street, or form a group to advocate for a remedy to that dangerous intersection in your neighborhood. There is no end to the creative avenues for volunteering, just as there is no end to the need for volunteers.

we talk on rest in next post. keep viewing this blog. you can read the next tip.

Gather your thoughts, learn to focus-2

Good Evening friends, we are talking about Gather your thoughts, learn to focus focusing our self with the way of gathering of thoughts. We talk first part in previous post. Read the remaining part. While practising mantra-sadhana, the seeker sits on a woollen blanket. The reason being that the vibrations generated through repetition of holy syllables tend to get dispersed if one sits on a bare floor or wooden plank.

In our present state of spiritual evolution, we are not prepared for experiencing the extremely subtle and powerful rays of consciousness. Awakening of Kundalini sets in motion spontaneous yogic kriyas that intensify the process of spiritual evolution. Powerful pranic currents are generated that purify the seeker at the physical and mental levels, making him worthy of imbibing mystic experiences associated with higher levels of consciousness.

The awakened Kundalini ultimately leads the seeker to the abode of eternal consciousness, the supra-causal state, where he begins to perceive the light of the Self, called the Blue Pearl. Regarded as the most intimate body of the soul, the Blue Pearl bestows upon the seeker Divine Grace, enabling him to realise his innermost Self.

According to Swami Muktananda: “As meditation deepens, one begins to see the Blue Pearl sparkling and scintillating in the topmost spiritual centre, the sahasrara . The Blue Pearl is the abode of God, the form of the Self within us. As you continue to meditate, one day this light will expand, and within it you will see the entire cosmos. As you become immersed in this light, you will know, ‘I am God’.” This sublime state marks the culmination of meditation wherein the seeker realises that the worlds perceived by the ego in the waking and dream states are like fleeting pictures that appear on the screen of pure consciousness that abides in eternity.

Gather your thoughts, learn to focus-1

We let scatter our mental energy in random thoughts; so we find it difficult to tread the spiritual path of meditation.

It has been the experience of many seekers that as soon as they sit in meditation, all sorts of turbulent thoughts occupy their mind as a result of which they are forced to abandon meditation. This happens because of the deep-rooted tendency of the mind to dwell upon worldly objects.

It is, therefore, important that a point of focus is provided to the mind that could help harness thoughts, giving them a new, inward direction. Sages had evolved certain mantras or holy syllables whose sound vibrations have the potency of creating an ambience that is conducive to entering into deep meditation.

Swami Muktananda, on the basis of his personal experience, spoke in glowing terms about the efficacy of the panchakshari , the five-lettered mantra ‘Om Namah Shivaya’, in inducing seekers to spontaneously delve into deep meditation. The five syllables of this mantra na, ma, shi, va and ya are the bij-aksharas or seed-letters of the five elements of creation; earth, water, fire, air and ether, of which our body is made. Flesh represents the earth; blood represents water; the body heat that helps in digesting food represents fire; the prana or life-giving force represents air; and the mind represents ether.

Constant repetition of these holy syllables, either verbally or mentally, generates powerful spiritual vibrations that render the mind pure and one-pointed, directing it inwards, leading ultimately to the awakening of the Kundalini, the spiritual energy, that lies dormant at the base of the spine, the muladhar, in each individual. more….

Readings for Volunteer Training

Good Morning friends, I was reading about volunteer training on net and I found this note very good. It’s small in size and quantity at the same time, it’s very effective. Some volunteer programs are moving training to the Internet, through a Web site or via email. In some cases the handbook for volunteers is online and available to anyone with an interest.  How effective is “reading” as a training tool and are there ways to enhance learning, when reading is the most likely format for teaching? Here are some tips.

Things to consider when selecting reading as a training tool:

  • Readings are materials that provide information or instruction about a topic.
  • Reading assignments do not stimulate the senses; therefore,   there is poor retention of the material covered.
  • Reading assignments should always be accompanied by some type of feedback exercise.
  • Readings work best when the trainer builds in some form of accountability for the learner.
  • Readings should be related to real-world problems, projects or products.
  • Readings can be helped by providing the learner with a “structured notepad” that guides his reading and note-taking.
  • Readings that provide growth for the learner should be provided.

Good Evening Friends, Barack Obama elected as first black American president of United States of America. Something being Gujarati and amdavadi we can take proud for. A daughter from sabarkantha, Gujarat has been appointed an advisory board member by US president elect Barack Obama.

A day after US announced its historic verdict, Gabat, a tiny hamlet in faraway Sabarkantha, is celebrating. For, one of its daughters has been appointed an advisory board member by US president-elect Barack Obama. Sonal Shah, 40, an economist who co-founded Indicorps, is part of a panel comprising individuals with significant private and public sector experience who will offer their expertise in their respective fields to Obamas transition team. Born in Mumbai, Sonal completed her studies in US after her father Ramesh Shah moved from Gujarat to New York in 1970. She, along with her sister and mother, joined him in 1972.

While Sonal, the eldest sibling, grew up in US, India helped define her strong social service values, says sister Roopal. “Sonal believes strongly in the power of young people to make a difference like Obama, she too believes in the spirit of service and the spirit of sacrifice. Thats why Sonal, my brother Anand, and I started Indicorps, which reconnects non-resident Indians back to India to work on specific development projects in India,” says Roopal, a co-founder of Indicorps. While Roopal and Anand live in Ahmedabad, Sonal serves on the board of directors at Indicorps and many other non-profit organisations in the US. She was in Ahmedabad earlier this year.

Relatives know Sonal, a former Goldman Sachs executive who now heads Googles philanthropic arm, as somebody strongly committed to whatever she does. “She was a good athlete, extremely good at tennis and volleyball,” says her sister. Talk on Computerization

We all volunteer were sitting together and talking on different topics. Krunal come up with the subject Computerization in any industry. As he is hardware engineer in one company, he needs to travel a lot and he is having good exposer of his field as well as computerizes industry. We started our talk on computerization in industry and things to be taken care before and after computerization and processes and methods by which it can be done. We also talked exchange management.

Krunal come up with his view this way. The first thing he discussed to us is the goal of computerization in industry.  These are the increase productivity, minimize production waste and inventory, reduce the costs, perform data accessibility and data reliability, active directory management, standardize the production techniques, optimized the follow up, improvement of the business and the client relation. Everyone ask him to explain each of the above terminology first. He explains that. He discussed the goal of computerization to business income generation which are improvement of the sell more products, sale management, client relation management, standardize the contacts, active directory and the improvement to follow up of contracts. Someone ask him to talk on computerization with reference to government institutions.

He said in the Government institutions the improvement of the productivity and decision process, the improvement of reliability (production, commerce, national revenue, and improvement of procedures, improvement of reliability and quality, and the improvement of relationship from government/citizen and government/government and to optimize the needed information. Active directory tools help keep all the data safe and secure. The general goals of computerization, which are to perform the simple and repetitive operations properly, the application of the same rule or calculus to a big amount of data and the processing of big amount of data in short time.

There is also a big impact on Human Resources and work organization which is the reorganization of all work process, while in decision making: each manager will have information & tools to make decisions easily, information is available and reliable, simulations are possible and see the impact, extrapolations are easier, aggregation of data is possible, and alerts on sensitivity parameters are available.  Every manager on his level can have good view of facts data bases and data query, data aggregation and integration, exchange tools, data interpretation, simulation and extrapolation.  The impact with the productivity depends on employee’s involvement and motivation, process definition, information system implementation quality, new organization and information quality, and also it depends on the examples of projects with better productivity: alliance and examples of difficult project

As of the last part of our discussion was the summary. The overall summary is that computerization is a very performant technique.  It impacts all the aspects of the company or institution life and relations.  All these aspects are an important part of the project.  Human aspects are the most important. Production processes must be mostly simplified and standardized.

Volunteerism

Volunteerism is the willingness of people to work on behalf of others without being motivate by financial or material gain. Volunteers may have special training as rescuers, guides, assistants, teachers, missionaries, amateur radio operators, writers, and in other positions. But the majorities work on an imprompt basis, recognizing a need and filling it, whether it be the dramatic search for a lost child or the everyday giving of directions to a lost visitor. In economics, voluntary employment is unpaid employment.

It may be done for altruistic reasons, for example charity, as a hobby, community service or vocation, or for the purpose of gaining experience. Some go so far as to dedicate much of their lives to voluntary service. One way in which this is done is through the creation of a Non-Profit Franchise.
